April 2020 Newsletter
A Note From Tyler
COVID-19 has turned our lives upside down nearly overnight – what a crazy time we are in right now. I know there are many of you that are very nervous and unsure of what each new day will bring, but the one thing that keeps me positive and confident is we are truly all in this together.
Every day we are all faced with the same rules and requirements from our Governor and, based on all the info he continues to provide, all of our efforts (yes, sitting on the couch and binge-watching Tiger King is considered a near-heroic effort at this point) are starting to pay off.
Rather than provide you real estate advice/perspective, I want to just take a moment stand say “Thank You.” Thank you to everyone who is abiding by the Governor’s request and practicing social distancing. A big thank you to all the first responders – you are the true heroes of this pandemic. We may look back at this time a year from now and say “wow, we really overreacted” but I would say it’s better to be safe than sorry. Enjoy all the extra time you are getting to squeeze your loved ones a little closer and rest easy knowing that we are all in this together.
For what it’s worth, the housing market is as strong as ever. Don’t believe all the doom and gloom on the news. Even with people tossing around the word “recession” it’s important to know that during 3 of the past 4 recessions, the housing market actually appreciated. An economic recession (which, in my opinion, is different than this specific COVID situation) is not directly correlated with the housing market. We have many ways to keep our clients (both buyers and sellers) safe during this time if you need to buy or sell. Please reach out with any additional questions.
Lastly, my team and I are here for you through the good times and the bad. We will not abandon you and are here to help you achieve success no matter what economic situation we’re in. If you need someone to talk to, we’re just a phone call or click away. Stay strong everyone and know that this too, shall pass soon.

Mortgage Hot Take
Current Interest Rates
If you follow the news you have probably heard that mortgage interest rates are changing sometimes by the hour. Right now rates are still at historic lows, while home values still remain stable. This means if you currently have owned your home for at least 6 months, you may have equity to take advantage of with a refinance. It also means if you are looking to purchase a home this is a GREAT time to shop as we don’t know where rates will be 3 or 6 months from now.

How are you spending quarantine?
During the quarantine I have been enjoying extra time with the family and being the chef, school teacher and leader of the shenanigans. This time has strengthened our bond as a family which has been super cool and it has been a blast being teacher daddy to my kindergartener and 1st grader. I have also absolutely loved growing thru technology and continuing to lead my clients home!
Where’s the first place you’ll be going after quarantine?
After the quarantine I have no clue where I am going to go. However, I am looking forward to seeing everyone on a daily basis again!
What’s your least favorite chore?
The dishes… I hate the dishes.
If you could learn any language fluently what would it be?
I made a decision in high school and I am going to stick with Spanish.
What’s your spirit animal?
My spirit animal is a Tiger because of its strength and courage.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I absolutely love helping people and making them happy. It is rewarding to see the BIG smiles I receive for leading them home. I am also very honored people look to me and our team to make their American dream a reality!
